Every player is an opponent.
Five Contestants share the court, but nobody plays on a team. You compete for Possession, Position, and your own scoring chances.
A new form of individual basketball competition
PRO21 begins with basketball's playground game of 21. It keeps the individual challenge and gives it a structure built for organized competition: defined rules, shifting roles, and a game designed to keep moving.
POB = Player on the Ball · The others are Contenders · No teammates
The game at a glance
PRO21 takes a familiar starting point and builds a competition where each player has to create and protect their own path to victory.
Five Contestants share the court, but nobody plays on a team. You compete for Possession, Position, and your own scoring chances.
A Field Goal is worth 2 Tallies. A successful Free Shot is worth 1. The first Contestant to land on exactly 21 wins. If an exact finish is no longer possible, Dropping Points can return a Contestant to 13.
Roles and opportunities can change from one moment to the next. One Director governs the Contest while keeping play live whenever possible.

The competition beneath the competition
The Player on the Ball starts the offensive action. The other Contestants are Contenders. The Forward Position identifies the primary Defender. Those roles can shift as possession, shots, and rebounds change the situation.
Every player has to read the court, manage their score, compete for the ball, and recognize when the rules create an opportunity.
A signature PRO21 mechanic
The Portal turns an out-of-bounds moment into a new contest for Possession. The Director sends a separate Portal Ball toward Construction, and the players compete to claim it under the rules.
It is one example of how PRO21 uses structure to keep competition at the center of the game.
The Portal has specific procedures in the Official Rules.
